The practice
Residential architecture in Ocean City, New Jersey
Halliday Architects is a residential architecture practice in Ocean City, New Jersey, led by Christopher and Shannon Halliday. Both are registered architects and LEED accredited professionals, and the studio has worked along the shore since 2013.
testing
The studio is deliberately small. Every project is led personally by a principal, from the first site visit through construction administration, so the person who drew the house is the person answering questions on site.

One practice, from the first site visit to the last
Consultation
We walk the site, look at what the zoning and flood maps allow, and talk through what you want the house to do.
Design
Sketches become plans, and plans become a set a builder can price and work from — reviewed with you at every stage.
Approvals
Code review, zoning submissions and permit documents are prepared and carried through the municipal process.
Construction
We stay involved on site, answering the questions that come up as the house is built.

What clients say
“Chris and Shannon listened carefully to how we wanted to live in the house and translated it into a plan that works beautifully. They stayed involved from the first site visit through construction.”
“Working with Halliday Architects was straightforward from start to finish. Drawings were clear, approvals were handled, and questions were answered the same day.”
“Our renovation had real constraints and they solved them without losing the character of the house. The light in the new spaces is exactly what we hoped for.”
